Welding and Cutting.
The use of nitrogen in welding processes in inert environment has always been a debated topic since its introduction, either because of the difficulty of proving the economic return, either because of the high cost in the daily management and systems’ investment. Little used in wave soldering, has found its greatest application in the reflow soldering and selective soldering. The reasons that led to focus on the nitrogen are its relative cheapness and the fact that it does not react with metal surfaces to form not weldable surfaces.
